Food was amazing as expected! Their scusa bread was probably my favorite thing I ate my whole trip. Make reservations because it gets busy. Wine only no open bar. Romantic setting with white table clothes. Great service and yummy choices. A definite recommend

Came to Scusa with a group of 6 over a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago. Reservations were made in advance and we asked to change it to a day before, they were really flexible. We ordered a couple of things to share for the table: -Scusa Garlic Bread, this was yum! Warm gooey-melted cheese and some marinara/tomato sauce. What's not to love? -Fried Calamari, this was standard. Came with cocktail sauce and a green aioli. I preferred the aioli, yum! I ordered the Linguini and Clams, the white wine sauce was more lemony than I expected but it was a generous portion of clams, I packed to-go. My friends all ordered different pasta dishes and seemed to all enjoy their dishes. Service was fairly quick and parking is easy (they have their own lot).

Excellent Italian food. This restaurant has been one of my favorites for over 20 years. The service is always consistently great. My only complaint is that it's so busy at times.

Best Italian food in South Lake Tahoe. Has its own parking lot and traffic signal light to make left turns onto busy South Lake Tahoe blvd. Beautiful romantic ambiance, with cloth napkins, candlelight tables, uniformed waiters, mountains in the background, although no views of the Lake. Loved the fresh complimentary bread so much, had two helpings. I could eat it as a meal alone. Nowadays many places charge you for bread, particularly such large portions. $38.95 seafood fettucine came with a handful of good sized shrimp, two large scallops, clams, two large mussels, and a few chunks of salmon in a heavy alfredo sauce. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the seafood flavorful, despite the fact that all of the seafood imported, as no commercial fishing in Lake Tahoe. $28.95 calamari steak came with perhaps a 6 ounce size chunk of calamari steak, capers, roasted red peppers in a rich lime butter. The capers added quite a bit of spice to an otherwise bland dish. Exceptional service and ambiance. Was hesitant about spending $38.95 for the sea scallops, or the lobster ravioli special, as pricey for the small servings that you get. Probably next time I will have the $23.95 classic lasagne, $22.95 eggplant or the $23.95 chicken and ravioli, all of which have the best bang for the buck. The pasta dishes especially with the rich alfredo sauce are so filling, there was no consideration of dessert, as we barely waddled out of there.

Sitting on the outside patio and we enjoy the ambience ... Ian is our server and we enjoy the fried calamari and hubby's Petro swordfish angle hair pasta and my lobster ravioli are both good! Complimentary ice cream brownie is a plus after dinner! Great service,, food and ambience.. what more could I ask for!!

Scusa has been a favorite dining place during the past 10 years since hubby and I first started dating years ago and continues to always delight and bring us joy when we visit South Lake Tahoe. Our first time here we dined outdoors in the garden just as the sun was setting and was such a beautiful gorgeous and scrumptious experience. As the evening garden lights turned on and the portable heaters turned on we continued to enjoy our meal together with the many other diners there. Since then we have only dined indoors however I would like to experience the garden again perhaps next time. This evening we dined and brought my mom, sister and brother in law with us. This was their first time dining here. We all enjoyed our meal together and enjoyed the friendly and kind service as well. The portions are very generous and 2 of us brought home leftovers to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. The calamari is always a yes please appetizer each and every time. Crunchy on the outside and tender perfect on the inside. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan which is always the perfect meal. Parking can be a bit limited so we have learned from experience to only dine during the earlier hours to ensure we can find a Parking spot out front.

We were excited to try this restaurant after seeing all of the reviews! We ordered two starters - the garlic bread scusa and the caesar salad. For our entrees, we ordered the eggplant parmesan, the chicken linguine, and the sausage and peppers linguine bolognese. The garlic bread scusa was amazing! We loved how the tomatoes were marinated with a vinegar base, so the sourness of the tomatoes paired well with the garlic cheese bread. The caesar salad was okay, the lettuce wasn't as fresh as we would've liked. The entrees were great and packed with so much flavor - I loved the eggplant parmesan, that was by far the best dish we ordered. The service was slightly disappointing, hence the -1 star. Near the end of our meal, different waiters kept coming every 5 minutes to collect our dishes, even when we weren't finished and there was still food on our plates. We also noticed that every other table got complimentary bread and cheese to start, and we did not. This was also disappointing to see, on top of the staff rushing our meal. Overall: food was great, but service was not the best.

Came here after snowboarding for the whole day and it was the best dinner of our Tahoe trip! Ambience- very upscale. We didn't have reservation. But got a table no problem. They seated us in a separate room by the entrance. So we had the whole room by ourselves which was great. Service- very top notch! They treated our kids like they are adults when taking orders! Food- great portion. All the pasta were very scrumptious. The only thing was the chicken in the salad was a bit dry. Otherwise, everything was great!! Highly recommended if anyone wants a nice Italian dinner in SLT area!
